Celebrate the Holidays with the Knoxville Museum of Art at Family Fun Day

December 7, 2010 (Knoxville, TN) – The Knoxville Museum of Art celebrates the holidays on Saturday, December 18 from 11am to 3pm with a Free Family Fun Day packed with art activities, artist demonstrations, continuous entertainment on stage, and docent-led gallery talks.

Children can create art inspired by the KMA’s Higher Ground: A Century of the Visual Arts in East Tennessee, David Bates: The Katrina Paintings, or the Fifth Annual East Tennessee Regional Student Art Exhibition.

Entertainment for Family Fun Day includes live music by CanJoe John and pianist Ben Maney, as well as ventriloquist Ron Lighty and Jason.

Artist demonstrators for Family Fun Day are Marlee Parnell and Gigi Wright. Additionally, Goldie & Da Bearz, a movie created by the Community School of the Arts, will show at 2pm in the KMA Auditorium. The day also includes free face painting and refreshments for sale.

Presenting sponsor for Family Fun Day is Regal Entertainment Group. Additional sponsors include the Aslan Foundation, the City of Knoxville, Knox County, Laura and Jason Bales, and the Tennessee Arts Commission.
