Alive After Five Members Opening with “Tribute to Bob Marley” with Natti Love JoysFebruary 07, 2020 6:00pm - 8:30pm
AA5 and the Natti Love Joys pay tribute to the late Bob Marley, who was one of the pioneers of reggae music as well as its world ambassador , and he would have been 75 years old on February 6 of this year. Now based in Turtletown in the Southeast corner of Tennessee, the roots reggae band, Natti Love Joys, was formed by the husband and wife duo of Jati and Marla Allen. Tony “Jati” Allen is from Kingston, Jamaica, and he played bass in Bob Marley’s band for a while. Marla was born in Brixton, England, of Jamaican parents. The Natti Love Joys have performed internationally at the Montreaux Jazz Festival in Switzerland and the Dominican Jazz Festival in the Dominican Republic and across a wide swath of the USA from New England to Colorado.
This event is a Members Opening for the Beauford Delaney & James Baldwin: Through the Unusual Door exhibition. KMA members can attend for free.
All tickets are sold at the door beginning at 4:45 pm.
Express Passes for the Winter Series of Alive After Five are $50 each for all 8 shows of the winter series. They are available for purchase by KMA members at Alive After Five. Express Pass holders may bypass the ticket desk and enter Bailey Hall after 5pm by showing their pass to the volunteer at the stairway/elevator on the first floor.
