Knoxville Museum of Art Receives 2011 Tennessee Art Education Award

In recognition of outstanding leadership in art education in the state of Tennessee, the Knoxville Museum of Art was presented with the prestigious Tennessee Art Education Association (TAEA) Friend of Art Education award for 2011.

The museum will be honored at the TAEA Professional Development Conference in Nashville in early November. The award recognizes the “invaluable contribution to students in the field of art education” and acknowledges the KMA’s “significant positive impact on Tennessee art students.”

“This award represents the emphasis and focus we place on education,” said KMA Executive Director David Butler. “We are proud to be the recipient of such a prestigious award and plan to continue our efforts to reach as many East Tennessee children as possible.”
